Summer footwear

Not sure about you folks but I really do struggle with summer footwear. I do so enjoy going into office or dune and looking at all the pretty summer sandals.  I like them all, gladiators, embellished, wedges, and the plan ugly orthopaedic sandal that seems to be in fashion now.

However what stops me from buying is after years and years of buying a new summery sandal, I always find that they rub and blister me to death.  By the end of the summer when I do my bi-annual closet cull they are relegated to the charity shop.
What do I always reach for year after year are three staple shoes.

Birkenstocks

I have been wearing these for years and I have three pairs in different colours but the black version are my favourite.  Not the prettiest sandal out there but definitely the most comfortable.

Toms

Buy one and give one the ethical choice for a summer slip on.  Really comfortable, affordable and come in a multitude of colours and textures.

Havianas flip flops

The only rubber flip flop I buy.  I have had this particular pair since 2004 and the sole is nearly paper thin.   If you are ever in brazil load up on these are they are cheaper there than they are here.

What are your summer footwear staples?

Thanks for reading
