New in
So it’s been a couple of months since I posted a post
regarding new products I am trying.
Generally I will set myself a budget of £50 for beauty/clothing etc.
each month. So this is a little more
than what I would buy during the month but this is over a 2/3 month period of
picking these up.
Charles Worthington
Bounce and Volume Texturizing spray.
£6.99
So I first heard about this from Liana Beauty. We all know that Amelia has fabulous hair all
the time so if it’s passed her litmus test it must be good. I love the Oribe texturizing spray, I don’t
love the price however. So this is a
great alternative. My view of it is
that it is the same as it’s expensive counterpart but a 100% more longer lasting. Somehow there is a hairspray element to it
that holds the style in place. With the
Oribe as much as I like the effect it does flatten after 2-3 hours and
dependent on how humid it is. So you do
need to keep re-applying to keep the look. With the Oribe I do find the more product you
add the heavier the hair becomes, and eventually this makes your hair go
flat. With this spray I have tried a
couple of times ‘going to town’ with it and no heaviness happened. If you are new to texturizing sprays and don’t
want to shell out the big bucks for the Oribe then go for this. There are currently 3 for 2 options for
Charles Worthington products. I would
recommend the moisture seal conditioner as another product to buy, it is a
lovely everyday conditioner.
Pixi Glow Tonic £16
So I finally found the Pixi Store on Carnaby street. I found it completely by accident on lazy Saturday
afternoon. In the past Pixi have had a
production issue with this toner, as EVERYONE and her dog wanted to get
this. Happy to say when I went 4 weeks
ago there was dozens and dozens of bottles of this on display. This stuff really does live up the hype. I have been using this twice a day for a
month and I have noticed a large difference in my skin. My pores are smaller and everything is rather
glowy, and my spots are less or smaller.
Even when it’s that time of month when I attract bears.
Kiehls Micro-Blur Skin
Perfector £23
What is it about that magic word Skin ‘hyphen’ that always
makes a product amazing? I have
something by Becca (shimmer skin-perfector) and Kevyn Aucoin (sensual skin-
enhancer) that both have that magic ‘hyphen’
in the name and they are brilliant too. I
caved and bought this recently due to several reviews and a very pushy SA in
Libertys. This feels and acts a lot like
the benefit Porefessional but it’s harder working sister. It is a silicon based product, that has the
slippy feeling, which I quite enjoy. It
does what is says on the tin and covers larger pores and finer lines under the
eyes. The perfect product for when you
are hungover and need a little cheat, to get you looking more perky than you
feel. Generally I find my skin oilier after
a night out so this is great as it clings to the surface of the face a bit
better, and anchors everything together.
This great to use pared with Porefessional and then a little Dior Nude
BB cream. The three combined make a
really radiant looking face.
Urban Decay 24/7
Glide on Eyeliner in Hustle £14
So I didn’t need this, I didn’t need this at all, but it is
so good it unbelievable. I already have
this in black and wanted a nice smokey brown, as I find black a bit too harsh
sometimes with an eye shadow. I really
enjoy the colour range of these eyeliners.
They have every grey, taupe and brown in between as well as sparkly
eyeliners. This eyeliner does last a
long time. I wouldn’t say 24 hours, but
it sticks around for a good 6hours.
Maxfactor Mascara
False effect Waterproof £11
Being forever on the hunt for a replacement for my L’oreal
telescopic I think this may be it. This
was recommended by my favourite beauty blogger Anna from Vivianna does make
up. When it comes to mascara her word on
the matter is gospel. This is something
that she recommended on one of her recently videos. This was quickly purchased and I haven’t
stopped using it. While it is not
exactly like the telescopic as it is a bit wetter in consistency it does a good
job for lengthening and holding a curl.
I waiting for this to dry out a bit, as I find when I do apply it always
smudges a little on the eyelid. This
stuff is also a real pain to take off, even bioderma has a problem removing
this.
What new things have you been trying out this week?
Any new things you can’t fathom how you existed before?
Thanks for reading
