Sephora Haul and cheeky off duty Shopping.

Sephora haul and cheeky off duty shopping

So last April I went away for a week to New York with my husband.  We stayed with some good friends of ours, and had a leisurely week eating and shopping.  I also managed to put on 7 pounds in 7 days, something to do with having 5 meals a day I think.  I haven’t put in prices for items because, rather stupidly I have binned the receipts and it was over two months ago so really cannot remember.

I didn’t buy anything clothing wise, but my husband did allow me to go mad in Sephora, which was nice of him.  We were going to buy a Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag for a birthday present for me.  However when I went into Barneys I was assaulted with too many choices, I settled on three but then couldn’t choose a contender.  We then walked out empty handed.  I guess you get an idea of something you want in your head, but when given the opportunity to buy it loses its appeal.  Oh well. What I did bring home was the following:

Clinique palette.

I can’t remember the name of the palette, but I managed to snag this wandering past duty free.  I was on holiday and I was feeling spendy, but yes yet ANOTHER palette to add to my ever growing collection.  It contains a multitude of nudey-neutral colours and is perfect for travel.   I have been using this quite a lot recently because it is so user friendly.  It’s the kind of no brainer eye shadow, connect the dots and off you go to work.  Perfect for those mornings when I really don't have a preference for what I plonk on my face.   I’ve never owned eye shadows from Clinique before so I was really impressed by how good the formula was.

Josie Malan Glee blusher in runway red.
I have heard a lot about this blusher from last year. With various BBloggers raving about it. The irritating thing is that it’s not available in the UK, except via the Sephora website.  I waited a year to get it from the states in person, and it is lovely.  It lasts ages, maybe not the full 14hours it claims but a good 8 which in my book is good enough.  It is a lovely blush to wear all year round, and I have quite a few compliments wearing it.

Roller ball Perfume in Pure Grace.
One of favourite perfumes, which smells like freshly cleaned clothes.  Weird I know, but I love it. Sometimes I just want a scent that isn’t complicated, so no musk, no florals.  Wish they would sell these rollerballs in the UK.  Carrying a big bottle of perfume with me is just not an option. Travalos are good idea but once you have put one perfume in one you can’t switch and put another perfume in it.

Fresh tinted lip balm treatment in Rose
I try and buy these in the states because they are SO expensive in the UK.  I think this is the fourth colour I have in these.  These are very moisturising and give a little hint of colour that makes you look a bit more done.   It’s not full on lipstick, but it not just lip balm, it is a diluted version of both in one.  These are good for days when you can't be bothered to commit to full lipstick, but still want a wash of colour.

Make up brush cleaner
I know these are sold in Selfridges, but I just keep forgetting to pick on up when I am there.  Which is not often now that I am trying to be good with my money.  This cuts down the cleaning brush time, and bizarrely makes the brushes dry a lot quicker as well.

Hairbands
Some fun hairbands.  Heard a lot about these tie hairbands.  They are excellent, will definitely be getting some more like this soon.  They don’t snag or pull on the hair.  They also make the perfect messy top knot with zero effort.

Sephora has recently started to ship to the UK, although there are restrictions on liquids and some gels so please bear that in mind. Have you tried to order from Sephora yet?

Thanks for reading.
