Space NK haulage

So to take advantage of the double points at Space NK I went on a little rekkie to my local one.  I brought home a few treats that I had my eye on for a while

Nars Duo Blush and Bronzer Palette. £30 (Space Nk in Store)
I knew I shouldn’t have read that blog ‘what I heart today’ by Lily.  She blogged about a Nars compact duo ‘throat*’ blush and ‘laguna’ bronzer which is the ultimate combo.
(* I am not going to put the proper name as I am trying to get ads on my blog and basically have been told off by Google for being too rude. *sigh* me and my potty mouth got me in trouble again, my Mum was right. PG rated from now on folks.)

Thus started my frenzy to get my mitts on it.  Space NK of course had sold out online, which made me think that maybe I wanted ‘desire’ and ‘laguna’ combo.  Who am I kidding ‘desire’ just does not show up on me no matter how much I apply.  I just look like I have fallen asleep in a bucket of flour. So last night I wandered over to my local Space NK.  Which has so many lovely ladies as staff, so helpful, so friendly, and so not pushy.  I love my local, for some reason it always seems to have what is sold out online.   I just think there are no beauty fanatics in the area, with the exception of me so I reap the rewards.  SWEET.
If you are not acquainted with Nars blushes I suggest this as your first.  Loads of people rave about ‘organism’* which is a pretty colour but so glittery you can only really wear it when for a night out.   Oh and all the names for everything in Nars can be somewhat racy.   I digress, ‘throat’* is a beautiful pink, peach colour. It has little gold glitter threaded through.  Enough sparkle to be special and give you a glowy highlight, but little enough to be used every day.  It’s a blush that I reach for a lot, especially when I want the focus on my eyes or lips.   This is a really is a great first Nars blush to whet your appetite.  The bronzer ‘laguna’ is a classic amongst the beauty blogger bunch.  A beautiful gold/yellow based bronze with not a hint of orange in sight.  It is a winning shade that will work on most skin tones, and gives you the perfect sun kissed look.  This has a smidge of glitter which also gives a subtle luminous effect.  I have experimented with contouring with this, not entirely sure it can do that job.  However maybe if you are quite fair this will work for you?   This is also very beautiful by itself.  I love to wear this with a bit of SPF and fluff this on my face with a big powder brush.  I will apply this where the sun would naturally hit my face and it looks great.   This bronzer will also work with a number of blushers that I have, but it especially works with the corals and pinks.
I am very happy I managed to get this palette as it will be great for travel.  If you are pinning after this as I was, then try your local Space NK they may have it in Stock.  Or, and I am being kind here, try Bishops gate branch.  I think they said they had a couple left when I got mine.  J

Another gem which I had heard about last month but hadn’t got was the Hourglass No 28 Lip treatment Oil £30 (available on back order)   I heard about this that it’s meant to contain 28 different oils hence the name.  I have just had a look at the ingredients list and there is a lot there, which I am not going to list because we will be here til xmas.   The texture is not like an oil, but more like an oily gelly texture, no scent or flavour.  This really reminds me of an line called Aromatherapy that Crabtree and Evenlyn used to do, and dis-continued.   The applicator for this is lovely, it’s a 24 gold karat tipped applicator, so when you apply it its cool and smooth.  I have only used this once so far but I love it for now.  I will let you know in 2 weeks if it has my lip balm seal of approval.

Another offering from Hourglass is the Opaque rouge in ‘muse’ £23.  I know I am a little late to the matte bright lip party, it’s taken me a while to come around to the idea of having matte lips.   I just think about bits of lipstick tinted dry skin poking out of my mouth and shudder internally.  This formula is not drying at all I will say that from the outset, so I was completely won over by this.   I am still playing with this at the moment so I will do a review of this shortly.

What bits do you have your eye on at the moment.  Any other colours in the Opaque Rouge I should try?

Thanks for reading

Carrie x
